News Release:

VIENNA, WV (April 23, 2008) – The 25th Annual Ohio Valley University Inman Biblical Preaching Seminar will take place May 5-7 on OVU's main campus.

The event ushers in several new aspects this year including a new name (previously the Inman Biblical Forum) and the expansion of program offerings from one day to three days. Each session is designed especially for preachers and Bible school teachers who want in-depth study of the scripture and ministry topics.

"Although this is the 25th year of this seminar, it is also an entirely new beginning," Dr. Michael Moss, Dean of the OVU School of Biblical Studies, said. "Our goal is to align the seminar with Brother Clifton Inman's love for the Word of God and to provide local preachers and teachers with tools to share the Word with our world."

"Our goal in moving to the Inman Biblical Preaching Seminar was to expand both the offerings and participation. Our goal is to provide something from which the whole community can benefit," Moss said.

Each year the seminar plans to bring in a visiting scholar from a sister institution, to use a local minister who can share his skills, and to allow an OVU professor to address their area of specialization. This year the speakers will be Dr. Kevin Youngblood, assistant professor of Bible at Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, TN; Dr. Charles Aebi, well-known and appreciated local minister; and Dr. Michael Moss, Dean of the OVU School of Biblical Studies.

This year the seminar features preaching and teaching on topics from Jonah, Acts, and 1 John.

Future plans for seminar topics are to study an Old Testament text, a New Testament text, and usually a topic of special interest (grief counseling, building healthy marriages, illustrating lessons, the minister and his time, etc.).
